Cognitive Liberty is freedom of the individual over his or her consciousness.

Proponents of cognitive liberty argue for ending drug prohibition as a civil rights issue (since psychoactives are used to alter consciousness), and that no one should be forced to alter his or her consciousness (e.g., a criminal forced to take anti-psychotics before testifying).
